1. Change in workflow for API addressValidation1 and API addressValidation2

Workflow for these AV1 and AV2 API - NSW Point Address Validation 1 (Parsed and Unparsed) to replicate the Predictive service.

Our commitment to existing NSW Point V1 clients

Spatial Services is committed to supporting all existing NSW Point V1 API's and the clients that use them.

NSW Point V2 Key Features

1. Enhanced Predictive Address Validation Web Services

The Predictive Address Validation APIs offer a great solution for clients that wish to embed address validation into an online form in a user friendly fashion. As your end-user is typing their address into your form, the Predictive 1 API will offer them selectable address suggestions based upon their input. Once they choose their address from the suggested options; our Predictive 2 API can be used to return a wide range of address and location information for use in your systems.

New Feature Summary

  • A new dataset parameter that allows you to define the address dataset you wish to return suggestions from. This means that NSW Point can now validate both physical and postal addresses from a new "combined" default dataset that includes all addresses found in GNAF, GNAF Live and MailAddress datasets. Ability to restrict the service to source from just to just one, two or all three combined datasets.
  • An increased number of address suggestions can now be returned to your user. The upper limit of the maxNumberOfResults parameter has been extended to 20 suggestions.
  • Address suggestions can now be returned when the Street Number is not included in the user input. This means a list of valid addresses can be supplied to your user for them to choose from making it easier for support staff to find their clients addresses quickly.
  • The Predictive 2 API now accepts POST requests allowing you to return additional "outfield" information in the API response. By including outFields in an API request, you can return additional administrative information (such as Local Government Area Name) for an address. Detailed information is available from the API Documentation page.
  • Improved ‘Fuzzy Logic’ - The predictive service now uses machine learning to return more logical suggestions for an enhanced end-user experience.

2. An Improved and Enhanced NSW Point Widget

We have taken the feedback provided to us about our V1 Widget, combined it with the new functionality available to our Predictive Address Validation Services, and included integration with Service Point to produce a straightforward implementation process.

3. A New Dedicated Postal Address Validation Web Service (Mailpoint API)

This new API allows you to submit a single unparsed address for validation against Australia Post’s Postal Address File (PAF). The request and response information is provided in a format that is consistent with our existing Unparsed Address API but includes additional information that is unique to Australia Post such as Delivery Point Identifier (DPID).

Responses from the Mailpoint API do not include address geocodes.

4. Improved Standardisation and Consistency between all NSW Point Services

We have been working with our partners at PSMA to standardise the outputs between our web services and provide a more consistent experience across all NSW Point.
